While in Olympic National Park this past mid-May we decided to do the hike up to Hurricane Hill via Hurricane Ridge. The trail was still mostly covered with snow, but it was packed so we were comfortable with poles and spikes. From July - October, the “trail” is a very accessible paved path that winds its way up to Hurricane Hill and offers stunning views of the surrounding range. We brought lunch with us and relaxed at the top before heading back down to the parking lot. Also, please not in the winter/spring months, the road is closed at the Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center so you will have to hike an additional 2 miles to get to the trailhead (one mile in, one mile back).
