$50 or Less Gear Gifts

Dispersed+Camping+in+Oregon+High+Desert.jpeg

Hi everyone! I threw together a quick gift guide for gear where everything is $50 or less! Some of these items we own and love and some of them are things I’ll be getting this year as stocking stuffers or gifts for friends. Under the grid is a quick list with a few more details for each item, for instance if it would make a great gift for the backpacker in your life. Hope this helps anyone shopping last minute for some outdoorsy gifts!*

  • UCO Mess Kit - Great for the backpacker in your life or a kid who’s getting into camping. A 4-piece set that’s easy to keep together and clean on the go.

  • REI Soft Cooler - Soft coolers are great for someone without a lot of storage space not to mention they’re lightweight and easy to use. This one will fit a 12 pack of beers easily.

  • Nathan Handheld Water Bottle - I have this water bottle and I love it for longer runs or runs on hot days. It has a pouch where you can put energy gels or keys/credit cards too.

  • UCO Storm Proof Matches - You can light these matches in the middle of a hurricane. We always have these in our backpacks and camp sets in case weather gets nasty and we still need to light a fire. The container is waterproof too!

  • Compact Binoculars - For the nature lover in your life. I love to have a pair of binoculars in my backpack no matter what we’re doing!

  • Kuju Drip Coffee Packets - I LOVE THESE! Super easy to use, you just unfold them and prop them on top of your favorite camping mug and pour hot water. It’s basically a backcountry pour over in a single easy packet. This would make a great stocking stuffer for anyone who loves to backpack or camp!

  • HydroBlue Water Bottle + Filter - This is one of our favorite water bottles to take into the backcountry. You can fill it up in any body of water because the straw is a strong filter! A super fun gift for the backpacker in your life.

  • Marshmallow + Hotdog Roasters Pair - Super fun for anyone who loves s’mores or roasting dogs. This would be fun to pair with a s’more kit as well :) Ours have lasted for about 5 years now and still going strong.

  • GoalZero Crushable Lantern - A fun stocking stuffer for anyone who likes extra light while they camp. This compact lantern can fit in the smallest spaces while packing a big punch in terms of light.

  • MountainSmith Lumbar Pack - Great to have if you don’t like wearing a backpack or if your backpacking and want a small day pack for shorter hikes.

  • UltraLight Medical Kit - A great lightweight medical kit for backpacking, hiking or anything where you don’t want to lug a heavy first aid kit around. (I also keep one in my car as a backup)

  • Sawyer Squeeze Filtration System - The best filtration system IMO. Attach to the top of a plastic water bottle or use the reusable pouch it comes with. This kit also comes with a net so you can create your own antigravity filter.

  • Yeti Rambler Tumbler - For the person who is always complaining that their drink is too cold.

  • OPSAK Odorless, Resealable Bags - Awesome for the backpacker in your life (or camper) who might encounter wildlife. These bags help seal odors in the outdoors to keep you safe and to deter any critters that might catch a curious scent.

  • Reflective Vest - Minimalist vest for the runner in your life that likes early mornings or late nights (or just running in the dark winter).

  • Collapsable Water Cube - We love this thing and take it camping all the time. It holds a ton of water and is reusable so you can cut back on buying gallons of plastic water.

  • Moleskin Kit - This amazing kit has a great selection of moleskins that actually help prevent and protect blisters. I buy about 2 a year and always end up sharing more than I use. I love to throw these in my first aid kit.

  • GoalZero Powerbank - I always charge this up and bring it with my backpacking and sometimes I’ve been known to throw it in my bag if it’s going to be a long day outdoors. Great for recharging a phone on the go!

  • Collapsable Double Dog Bowls - Very cute and very functional for your dog on the trail. Fold them down and pack away when not in use or quickly grab to fill up on the go.

  • Earth Friendly Pick Up Bags - For your furry friend on the trail or on a neighborhood walk.

  • LED Safety Necklace - Great for backcountry camping or dispersed camping where you let your pup run free. Even in the dark you can always see where your doggo is roaming.

  • Trail Dog Medical Kit - Great to have to keep your dog safe on the trails. We bring medical kits for ourselves so why not our dogs too!

Don’t forget we have a SHOP tab on the blog where you can also buy al the gear we own and love :)

Happy Holidays everyone!!
