Hellllooooo! I've taken a bit of a break from blogging because this fall was just nuts with hiking, backpacking and traveling and trying to keep up with it all on this site was just too much. So I took the last week of November and first week of December off to catch up before the new year!

Michael and I escaped for a much needed vacation to San Diego and we couldn't have been luckier with the weather. Every day was bright, sunny and in the 70's. It was perfect. Palm trees and boats were covered in Christmas lights and it was so neat to be somewhere so warm during Christmastime. We spent most of the trip checking out local craft breweries (Stone and Ballast Point in particular) and hanging out at different spots along the coast. We decided to stay in Little Italy because it was a perfect central location and it was well worth it because of the food... seriously it was so good! We had such a blast and were really bummed when the trip was suddenly over (and coming back to the cold weather, blah). San Diego is a wonderful city and we already can't wait to go back.

On Saturday we went to Sunset Cliffs in the late afternoon before going out to dinner. Southern California beaches are super cool with their steep cliffs. There were a bunch of people wandering around, having picnics and enjoying the view. It was super windy but the weather was seriously perfect and since the top of the cliffs are covered with trails, we spent most our time hiking around and enjoying the view. I also added one photo I took of the mountains in Southern California. That picture is looking south towards Mexico about an hour east of San Diego. The mountains out there are sooooo different than the Appalachian. On our next trip out there we're going to spend more time exploring and hiking through them.

The video to our little trip (which is literally just a jumbled compilation of some of the videos I took) can be located here: https://youtu.be/Zg96Pk1EO4w

I'll be posting another post about our time we spent in La Jolla in a few days!
